Maximum Creative Flow-Transforming Compulsion Into Passion
By Nodia Brent –Lux
Each year, we meditate together at the Solstices with a Kriya and mantra that aligns with the theme. The Kriya for the Water Tattva is the Narayan Kriya supported by the Narayan Mantra:
Sat Narayan Hari Narayan Hari Narayan Hari Hari.
The Water Tattva is associated with the second chakra and the reproductive system. This is where creativity begins at its most primal source.
Our emotions give us the energy which feeds our passions. When our emotions are not allowed to be processed in a healthy way, they start to control us. Our responses to daily life become rigid and compulsive, arising from our conditioning rather than from our creativity.
Imagine a container of water which has been collected from a stagnant source-the dirt and debris are visible. The water is limited in its usage, maybe even toxic. As we begin to filter the water, we are able to perceive the parts which have been contaminating it. We realize that the healthfulness of the water depends not just upon the purity of its source, but upon our ability to refine it.
In this way, it is our responsibility to clear unproductive emotional patterns within ourselves so that we can flow from an authentic and joyful place. We must also provide ourselves with the circumstances which create health in the first place.
These measures are crucial to the creation of emotional transparency, a state of being in which we have nothing to hide, no hidden agendas. We provide ourselves with the means to have true intimacy-in relationship with ourselves, others and the Infinite.

Hello all...This next Monday, December 21st I will be leading a special yoga class at Ahimsa Yoga Studio for the Winter Solstice. The theme will be water and we will be doing several meditations around the theme. I have included an article below from the 3HO website explaining what the water tattva is and what it represents. What a perfect theme with all the tension around fracking in Tompkins County and the potential threat it presents to our water system.
This will be an extra special class because my husband Jonathan will be attending the class and providing live music. I will also be serving yogi tea, so please come and bring a friend! See you there!
Sat Nam
Jai Hari
